Q. Is Crest Mountain inside the Asheville City Limits?
A.
Crest Mountain recently was voluntarily annexed into the Town of Woodfin.
Woodfin’s current tax rate is 26.5 cents per hundred valuation. This is much
lower than Asheville’s current tax rate of 52.5. Woodfin will be providing both
police protection and sanitation services for our community. We will
continue to have an Asheville mailing address with our 28806 zip code.
Additionally, we are part of the Asheville water system so water will be
provided from the pristine North Fork reservoir.

Q. What is the current property tax rate at Crest Mountain?
A.
The current tax rate for Crest Mountain consists of 68 cents for Buncombe
County and the aforementioned 28 cents for the Town of Woodfin.

Q. Is Crest Mountain gated?
A.
Crest Mountain is a gated community with an unmanned gatehouse at the
main entrance. Residents are furnished with the initial remote access
control for one of their vehicles. Guests will be required to call from the
gatehouse for access. Our lower construction entrance will also have a
gated entrance, but not a gatehouse. Completion of the electronic gate will
be forthcoming soon.

Q. Is there a minimum square footage requirement for homes built at Crest Mountain?
A.
There is a minimum square footage requirement depending upon the area you
live on Crest Mountain. Generally, a minimum of 2200 feet is required. The
developer reserves the right to adjust the requirement in consideration of
typography, etc.

Q. Are there protective covenants in place at Crest Mountain?
A.
Yes. A summary of the covenants is available here.

Q. What about the architectural style of homes on Crest Mountain?
A.
Crest Mountain does have distinctive styles of homes pre approved within
its guidelines. They include Mountain Rustic, Cottage and Manor styles. The

Q. Does Crest Mountain restrict property owners to their “preferred builders”?
A.
No. However, Crest Mountain will gladly recommend builders at our owners’
request. Builders who are not already on our “recommended list” must
demonstrate a history of financial stability, environmental sensitivity,
safety, and customer satisfaction.

Q. What utilities are provided at Crest Mountain?
A.
All utilities will be underground.Crest Mountain will have service for
electricity, telephone, cable, natural gas, city water, and public sewer to
all lots in Phases One and Two.
